Mohan Seneviratne / Program Manager, PaCT

Mohan Seneviratne was appointed as the PaCT Program Manager in April 2015. He joined IFC in 2011 as the Principal Industry Specialist for water efficiency, industrial water and wastewater within the Climate Business Department., He also was responsible for technical due diligence of energy efficiency, chemicals, bio-fuels and biochemical sectors.

Mohan has over 35 years of experience in water and wastewater resource management, treatment, and water conservation. At IFC he was responsible for a number of large investments in wastewater utilities in China. Before he joined IFC, he was the Director Water Efficiency, Queensland Water Commission, Australia and Program Manager for Business Water Conservation, Sydney Water, Australia, which won the 2006 Stockholm Industrial Water Award. He also worked in Kazakhstan, commissioning Chevron Oil and gas plant, Urea and Ammonia plant (Sri Lanka) and Combined Cycle power plants. Mohan also served as Technical Manager for Nalco and GE in Sri Lanka, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Thailand and Australia.

Mohan holds a MSc.Chem. Eng (Hons) in Petrochemical Technology (Gubkin University, Moscow, Russia), MBA (Deakin University, Australia) and Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment (Australia). He is the author of “A Practical Approach to Water Conservation for Commercial and Industrial Facilities” (Elsevier, 2006) and a number of other publications.
