Mohammed Nasir / Vice President (Finance) at BGMEA

Mohammed Nasir is known not only as a dynamic entrepreneur but also as a business leader. Currently he has been serving the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) as the Vice President (Finance) for the term of 2015-2016. Before becoming the Vice President (Finance), he served the trade association as the Director twice for the term of 2009-2010 & 2013-2014. He was also the Chairman of the Standing Committee on Trade Fair; the Standing Committee on Earn, Learn and Skills Training; and the Standing Committee on International Finance and World Bank Matching Grant. During his tenure in the office of BGMEA he has worked hard to promote and protect the interests of RMG industry of Bangladesh and had significant contribution to the development of the sector.

Mr. Nasir has been contributing to the apparel sector by facilitating various skills development projects and initiatives, including the Skills and Training Enhancement Project (STEP), and the Step Up. He is Chairperson of the RMG and Textile Industry Skills Council (RTISC); Convener of BGMEA Skills for Employment Investment Program (SEIP), and Vice President of the Centre of Excellence for Bangladesh Apparel Industry (CEBAI). He is a Trustee Board Member of BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT).

Mr. Nasir is also associated with other trade bodies. He is the Member of Bangladesh-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BMCCI), and Shippers Council of Bangladesh (SCB).

Mohammed Nasir is involved in different social activities. He is Member-in-Charge (Finance) of the Apparel Club Ltd., the former Secretary General of Chattagram Forum, Uttara, Dhaka, and Patiya Samity Dhaka; and also the former Joint Secretary of Chittagong Samity-Dhaka.

During his present tenure as the Vice President (Finance) of BGMEA, Mr. Nasir was the Chief Coordinator of BGMEA Members’ Picnic 2016 and 2017; the Chairman of BGMEA Cup Football 2016. He is also the Co-coordinator of Dhaka Apparel Summit 2017.
