Dr. Nazneen Ahmed / Senior Research Fellow at the Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS)

Dr. Nazneen Ahmed is a Senior Research Fellow at the Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS). She possesses PhD in Development Economics. She has specialization in conducting research on issues related to international trade, regional integration, industry, macro-economy, labour issues, social compliance and social protection issues and gender.

Dr. Nazneen Ahmed has a number of publications in reputed national and international journals and books. She also regularly writes in reputed national dailies. She has been working with various ministries and policy making bodies of the government. She was a member of the panel of economists to adopt the 7th Five-Year Plan for Bangladesh (2016-2020). She is a Director of the Public Bank named Palli Sanchay Bank. She is also a member of the general body of the Palli Kormo Shohayak Foundation (PKSF), Bangladesh.

Dr. Nazneen has worked with various International Development Organizations and Donors including the World Bank, DFID, UNCTAD, ILO, IFC, the European Commission, IDB, AED, Action Aid, IFPRI, IDRC, USAID and so on. In addition to conducting scientific research she has evaluated various large scale projects and programmes of different international organisations including DFID, Katalyst and IDB. She has presented papers in a number of high –level national and international conferences.
